Excellent teachers and a safe environment.

I attended this school during the 2007-08 school year, and I absolutely loathed every minute of it. It wasn't really that bad at first- I had a few friends and the teachers seemed pretty nice. But as the weeks wore on and the school began showing it's true colors, it got really ugly real fast. I was a sixth grader at the time, and although my class had nothing against the two above us, they seemed to have a grudge against us for some reason. Why, the very first week I was there, a seventh grader stopped me as I was walking home and basically told me that he was above me and could kill me any time he wanted. The intimidation did not stop there- a group of eight graders decided to physically harass me and a few of my friends, doing things like pushing us into ditches and tripping us in the halls. Worse yet, other students and teachers saw this happening, but did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stop it, going as far to blame the victims instead of the attackers. The buildings were old and dilapidated, and many of the classrooms weren't even equipped with enough desks to seat all the students, let alone adequate materials to teach them. I could go on and on for hours about how ambivalent the teachers were, how inept the administrators were, or how impossible it was for a person to feel any sense of pride toward the school as it seemed to promote a culture of ignorance and conformity, but I that would take up too much time and space. I did leave in the summer of 2008 for Colorado, so perhaps the new principal and the departure of eight graders improved the place. However, it doesn't seem very likely. No wonder my grades were so bad- it's a wonder anyone succeeds at this God awful place. I'm only giving it one star because I cannot give it zero- it may be the only place I have reviewed that truly deserves negatives. Pine Hollow sucks, plain and simple.

This school is so much better than DVMS! I think that this school should be "recognized as the California Gold Ribbon School"

Currently go to this school and honestly the environment is so friendly and nice. I love this school and my teachers. Highly recommend enrolling your son or daughter if your thinking about it!

It is a very good school. I have a Niece and a Nephew that attended at Pine Hollow. I have done work here as a subcontractor to keep them in compliance with Federal, State and local environmental laws.
