This place is hotrible, please if your child is here remove them as soon as you can! Find another facility or source of help. The nursing staff rude, they do not let you speak to your child, they do not answere queations and will yell at tou. I am a nurse and the quality if care gor patients as well as compassion for flthe families is not there at all!. Remove your child! They will only do more harm

Idk if I should really talk but I wen't here just a week ago and got out yesterday and as my first time attending John Muir, well it sucked. Some of the staff were rude and disrespectful. I couldn't say that I wasn't because I was but as I got there I felt uncomfortable and distant to myself. John Muir staff wouldn't even allow me to have fun because I was "too focused on on other people"
We got fed well and stagf were very understanding
I've been here at least 7 times. The staff sucks! They're not helpful at all and they force you to share with everyone why you're there. The adolescent unit is over crowded. They put me there when I was 12 because they had a problem with the child unit. The girls are nice and you can see the boys everyday at the gym. Doctor Koka just discharges people without listening to them first. Many leave still wanting to die or hurt themselves. Dr danillion is absolutely awful. He put me on a medication that I almost died from. He didn't check my background history or anything. He just asks dumb questions like "how are you feeling" "why are you here" I get why he asks those but if you say something like "fine" or "self harm" he pushes you until you're uncomfortable. Many of the people I've met have been fine after going there so it's not all terrible I suppose. I still don't recommend this place. St Mary's in SF is MUCH better.
