I am here on business and booked through American Express where it was listed as 3.5 stars and more than 200.00/night. I get here and am placed in an outside corridor where its freezing and a draft under and around the door. The room itself is horrible! Walls are filthy, hole in the floor, trim falling off from around the mirror. I certainly would NEVER give this a 3 rating. I think it falls around a 1, or less. I requested an inside room, and none are available.. how convenient. Clarion obviously treats their business travelers terribly. I will never stay in another Choice hotel in California... not my first bad experience, but will be my last.
Lots of parking but the spots are much tighter than they should be. Beautiful entrance. I remember when this was a Holiday Inn when we first traveled to California in September 1973. Clarion has done an excellent job with the transformation over the years. Excellent food.
Agree with the summary: Small rooms. Very Motel 6. Snazzy facade with old motel rooms behind. There is a new building, but the rooms are $10 more, and the desk folks said the rooms are about the same. Also, they refused to let us use a trundle bed, which forced one of our group to sleep in the chair, which sucked.
Look, if you’re just looking for an inexpensive basic room to lay your head at night this is gonna be your place. It was fine enough for me for that reason, too. BUT there were several things about the room that grossed me out from the moment I walked in. Smelled bad of cigarettes as I walked in (“non-smoking” room). I see a large stain on the bed cover (probably a bleach stain but that’s still gross because visually it makes you feel uneasy) and then I realize that the stained bed cover is concealing a huge rip in the comforter. It should have been unacceptable to put both of these bed pieces back on after having been stained and ripped. Makes me wonder about all the other stuff they don’t care about. I wanted to give it three stars cuz it wasn’t a horrible place, but for the reasons I mentioned I had to give it the two stars.
This is nice place to stay. The front desk was super friendly and had good advice for food near by. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. Megan the bartender is amazing!! Went in for happy hour and to watch football and ended up staying till the bar closed because Megan is so friendly and entertaining. I will stay at this hotel again just so i can go enjoy happy hour with Megan again.
